Apprentices Join the Team

In spite of the difficult economic times Banner has set on four new engineering apprentices.

Employed at Dronfield Plant, Wakefield Plant, Rotherham Powered Access and Rotherham Power Tools the four will follow a structured programme of college based learning combined with practical experience.

The apprenticeship scheme is a block release course of 12-15 weeks per year, over two to three years at Reaseheath College, Cheshire. Whilst at college the apprentice is trained by specialist staff in fully equipped workshops. The remaining weeks are spent back at Banner Plant Depots practicing new skills and gaining experience whilst working alongside competent.

Plant Mechanics. All Banner Plant apprentices are supported to achieve the Advanced Apprenticeship which incorporates the work-based Diploma (formerly NVQ) Level 3, Functional Skills and First Aid, plus industrial skills and a technical certificate (Advanced Certificate of Training).
